It’s Swiftbowl Part Two
It's a bit of a shortie post today, but hey, it’s my blog, and I can do what I want, right?
Yesterday, after a nail-biter of a game, the Kansas City Chiefs took the lead over the Buffalo Bills, cinching their spot in the Super Bowl for the third year in a row. The Philadelphia Eagles beat out the Washington Commanders earlier in the day, so we have a repeat of the 2023 game, which the Chiefs won. Will Travis Kelce get his never-before-done “threepeat” win?
And, more importantly, this means that for the second year in a row, we get to see Taylor Swift at the Superbowl.
The Dads, Brads, and Chads may protest, but for me, this gives me something to invest in on that Sunday in February. Sure, there will be apps and dips and friends and family, but now I get to watch and see what Taylor is wearing and what she’ll do.
I, personally, am very excited about this. I don’t even really care who wins, although Taylor does skew me toward the Chiefs, I guess. Here’s what I’m really ready for: another supercut of Taylor and Travis set to The Alchemy.
Not only that, but we have the Grammys coming up next weekend, where Taylor is nominated for six awards. If you recall, last year was when we got the announcement for The Tortured Poets Department, which is the album she’ll hopefully be taking awards for this year. I don’t think she’ll announce TS12 or Reputation TV if she wins (she rarely does the same thing twice), but knowing her, she’ll have some surprises up her sleeve.
What a couple of crazy weekends for America’s top power couple, and we get to sit and watch it all unfold.
Regardless of how you feel about Taylor and Travis (and trust me, mine are complicated), you have to admit it’s pretty amazing to see two people dating who are both at the top of their games in their respective fields.
I’m launching my monthly newsletter in February, so make sure you’re signed up in the box below ⬇️ I’ll be updating you on my publication process, sharing some of my top reads of the month, and chatting with some of your favorite (or soon-to-be-favorite) authors.
